Activities

Throughout the peak sunny summer months of July and August at Morriscastle, we have a very busy activity schedule. This displayed in the shop every morning before we open at 9am so that bookings can be organised early in the day. Here’s a taster of our daily activities and other events that we have going on throughout the season.

Sports

We have a number of regular activities happening every week like our Football Tournaments on Wednesdays and Sundays! Our cross training sessions happen twice a week with more exercise classes for kids and teenagers along with Yoga twice a week and other mindful sessions. We run table-tennis tournaments and pool competitions at peak times of the season.

Claymazing!

Every week we offer an Amazing Claymazing class for 2 hours which is an American style clay modelling that forms & hardens overnight without having to be baked! The finished product is a light, funky model to bring home. Claymazing is extremely popular at Morriscastle, so much so that in peak we run 2 classes on the day to cover demand.

Kidscraft

Our Kidsklub Craft classes happen a few times every week.  These are always a hit and booking early is a very good idea. Classes can only be booked on the morning/day of the class so early rising is recommended! They are scheduled to run for 90 mins daily.

Kids Movies

We love movies at Morriscastle and  we  show them regularly throughout the summer in our cinema in the club house. We have huge beanbags to lounge on and the massive screen with surround sound makes the experience fun for all the family.

Fishing

We have our exciting Fishing Classes on our Beach [weather and bait dependant] every week, sometimes twice a week. Places are very limited so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Kidscamps

Summer 2017 was the first season that we had our Drama Camp which was just fantastic fun. Lisa from ‘Shine Bright Drama School’ took charge for a week in July and we finished off the week with a show! Our schedule for 2018 will definitely have this Drama camp returning along with our super popular Sports Camp that happens also in July for a week. This is a daily mix of various sports from 10am to 2pm which is organised and supervised by excellent facilitators.

Discos & Puppet Shows

Our Club House is the perfect venue for these activities that happen a few times each over the season. Every Puppet Show is themed, never the same one twice over the summer and the added bonus is the fantastic balloon modelling that happens before and after the big Show. Our Discos are run by Liam and are a huge hit with all ages. With dance-offs for Dads and Moms along with the Foam gun spraying everyone – everyone has a great time.

For the Grown Ups!

We have our Bridge game on a Wednesday evening as well as our Craft Club on a Tuesday evening. All adults from the Touring and Mobiles are more than welcome. This year our Craft group made over 100 tiny hats and blankets for premature babies and these have been given to Wexford Hospital.

Kidscook

On Friday mornings, we run our Kids Cookery classes where we choose a recipe and teach approx 30 kids how to create it. We’ve had crepes, waffles, cookies, sweet pizzas, doughnuts, fudge and lots more. It’s a fun & safe, sweet learning environment where the kids are supervised at all times.

Special Events

Over the season, we aim to hold various events to fundraise for our chosen Charities. These include the following –
  • Easter weekend Egg Hunts
  • Afternoon Tea by the Sea
  • Male Voice Choir ‘Rhapsody’ Evening
  • Site Music Nights
  • Sand Sculpture Days
  • Campsite Table Quiz Nights
  • Morriscastles Got Talent
  • Bingo

Special note about our activities and events at Morriscastle

As a Holiday Park, we know that there’s more to a seaside holiday than just sunbathing on the beach, making sandcastles and digging the tunnel to Oz. That’s why we put so much work into organising schedules, activities, camps and events for your family to enjoy when you stay with us. Please note that we do charge for the extras through the season – but just in case you don’t know – all of the money that we take in for these activities and events is donated at the end of the season to our chosen Charities. For the last 5 years, we have been able to donate over €25,000 to The Irish Cancer Society, The Hope Cancer Support Centre, The Seal Sanctuary, The Miscarriage Association, The NWSPCA & The Guide Dogs for the Blind. So, every €1 to rent the Footie Pitch, the €6 for the Kidsclub classes, €2 for a movie or €6 for the Puppet Shows, goes towards fundraising for these great causes – thanks for your support!
