Due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic we will unfortunately not be opening for short stay touring in 2021.

Sincere apologies for any disappointment this change may bring. We were hopeful that all would be considerably better by our reopening dates this year but due to the constant lockdowns and our experience of being open through 2020 with high volumes of people moving on and off our site in peak season, we feel that this is the best option for Morriscastle to take for the coming year to maximise health and safety of all. We will reassess our situation again after Season ’21.


We have compiled a list of our most frequently asked questions to help you with your booking.  Please have a read through them before proceeding to the booking console.  If you can’t find an answer to your question in the list below please do get in touch with us and we’ll be glad to help you.   We are looking forward to welcoming you to Morriscastle next season.

Do you have tent camping pitches?

We do not have any tent camping pitches available on site.  Please check https://www.camping-ireland.ie for a list of campsites that do.

How do I get a Customer ID?

If you call our reception on 053 9130124 we can issue you a customer number.  If you call outside office hours please leave a clear message with your full name and email address and we’ll get your customer number to you straight away.

When do I have to pay for my booking?

All bookings need to be paid in full at time of booking.  For information about cancellations please see our Terms & Conditions

When are you open?

The touring season starts on the 1st of April and finishes on the 1st of September.  Our pods are available from April 1st till the end of September.

What time can we check in?

Check in is strictly from 1pm – 8pm for touring and 3pm-8pm for the Pods.  If you arrive any earlier than this you will have to wait till check in time.  If you can’t make it till after 8pm because of ferries etc., please let us know in advance.

What time do we have to check out at?

Check out time is 11am sharp for Touring and in the Pods to ensure that the pitch/pod is ready for the next guests arrival.

Is there a late checkout?

During peak season there aren’t any late checkouts possible.  However, if you would like to make the most of the day and go to the beach you can park in the carpark.  Parking is charged at €5 per day and is subject to availability.

Can we bring a second car with us?

Yes, you can bring a second car but it won’t be able to access the main touring area at any time and must be parked in the main carpark.  Parking is charged at €5 per day and spaces are available on a first come first served basis.

Can we light fires or use fire pits?

Unfortunately, due to our proximity to the dunes fires with naked flames are not permitted.  Charcoal and gas BBQ’s are allowed so long as they are off the ground.  Please do not dispose of hot or cold coals anywhere near your pitch.

Is there a charge for gazebos or awnings?

There is no charge for these so long as they fit on your pitch.

Can we bring our dog with us?

Yes you can bring your dog with you at no extra charge if you are in the touring area.  However dogs are not permitted in the Pods.  Dog’s must be kept on leads at all times and cleaned up after.  A maximum of two dogs per family.  If you have your dog on a long leash on your pitch it must not let the dog go further than the edge of your pitch.

The Control of Dogs Regulations 1998 impose additional rules in relation to the following breeds (and strains/cross-breeds) of dog:

  • American pit bull terrier
  • English bull terrier
  • Staffordshire bull terrier
  • Bull mastiff
  • Dobermann pinscher
  • German shepherd (Alsatian)
  • Rhodesian ridgeback
  • Rottweiler
  • Japanese akita
  • Japanese tosa
  • Bandog

The rules state that these dogs (or strains and crosses of them) must:

  • Be kept on a short strong lead by a person over 16 years who is capable of controlling them
  • Be muzzled whenever they are in a public place
  • Wear a collar bearing the name and address of their owner at all times.

Can we select our own pitch?

Unfortunately not as all our pitches are allocated automatically by our booking system.  Please note that if you move to any other pitch other than the one allocated to you, you will have to move your unit to your allocated pitch.

If I’m holidaying with other families, will we all be pitched together?

If you have added a note on your booking with your friends booking reference we will do our best to get you in the same area as them.  Please note there is no guarantee of this during peak season.

Are commercial vehicles permitted on the site?

Commercial vehicles are not permitted in the touring area.  If you are towing a caravan with a commercial vehicle it will be able to drop your unit to your pitch but it will have to park in our main car park.  Parking is €5 per day and subject to availability.
